3D Printing

Why the "Holey Cylinder" cannot be made substractively?

The ball in the "Holey Cylinder" larger than the holes of the "Holey Cylinder". If the product would to be made substractively, the ball would not be able to come through the holes, due to the size of the holes and the ball.

Settings in Ultimate Cura

Some of the things to take note for these settings are:

Adhesion type: Skirt
Infill: 10 %
Infill Patterns: Lines

Initially, estimated time to complete the "Dome" was well below the time limit of a hour. Hence, I decided to increase the scale of the "Dome".

There wasn't really any difficulty faced. Though I did need some help with setting up of the 3D Printer (Creality Ender 3). Luckily, there were kind seniors that helped me resolve the difficulties and I am thankful for their help.

Reflection
We were tasked by Dr. Noel to 3D Print a design of your choice which has two requirements. First, its that it needs to be substractive. Second, it should not exceed the time limit of 1 hour. I think that this task is important as 3D Printing is new to me. This task is a stepping stone to allow me to make and design something on my own. The experience was interesting because it is something new, and 3D Printing is something that I have not explored much of. The idea of making your own product is also really intriguing and appeals to me. This task is without a doubt important and useful as it allows us to be competent. It allow exposes us to a potential hobby.
I used to think that 3D Printing can only perform a small task like printing a small product. Now I think that 3D Printing has very huge potential in future as 3D Printing may be used to print buildings. I think it is something we can look forward to in the future. So next I will enhance and build on the knowledge I have for Fusion360 as well as the 3D Printing. This will enable myself to become someone of greater value.
